Today's Big Event!

I'm 3 Months Old!

Kendall turned 3 months old yesterday! Over the past month she's mastered holding her head up on her own and is cooing at everything! She's also gaining weight at a steady pace - she's up to 12 pounds, 7 ounces, which puts her in the 55th percentile for her age! She's getting really close to being able to sit on her own - I bet she'll be there by the time she's 4 months old.

Happy Easter!

Hope you had a happy easter! We had a great day (minus one frightening earthquake) with our family. Here's Kendall enjoying her new favorite toy - the jumperoo!!

Lately it seems like every time I pull out the camera, Kendall is more and more interested in the thing being pointed at her. She doesn't often smile for the camera like some babies do, but just kind of stares at it. However, she can only take so much of it before she melts down...

I don't try to photograph her crabbier moments, but last night I couldn't resist.

Yesterday Kendall turned 12 weeks. Were getting into a pretty good routine (with regular naps and a 9:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. sleeping schedule!!), and the little girl is more and more active when she is awake. She DOES NOT like to sit still with you while you relax and watch tv. So, Dan and I spend a lot of time walking from room to room while Kendall looks at anything and everything. Now that she holds her head up and can face forward in the Baby Bjorn, she's much happier. She didn't like it before, but now she will sit in it for hours. And, on a rare occasion, this happens...

Smiley Girl!

For me, one of the greatest days so far was the day that Kendall first smiled at me. I mean really smiled. I had seen a few little half smiles, but there's nothing like the first day she looked at me and gave me a huge toothless grin. I think it was so great for me because of how unhappy she had been with all of the reflux issues. It started to wear on me and I really wondered if she'd ever just be happy.

Anyways, she's has now been smiling since about 7 weeks, and she's smiling more and more every day. But, we've never been able to capture one on film...UNTIL NOW!

I know that I just got lucky and probably won't be able to capture another one for a while. So, I thought I'd share it. She is a happy baby!

Caleb's Spring Break

Last week was Caleb's spring break, so he headed out to California to spend the week with us. It was his first opportunity to meet his little sister. I'm not sure that he knew what to make of her, but we did manage to coax him into holding her for a few pictures.

Dan's mom also joined us for a few days, and it allowed me to get out of the house for a few days. I don't think she minded, and I think she enjoyed every moment of her time with Kendall. We had my family over one night to visit and watch some basketball.

Mammoth Trip

We took Kendall on her first vacation to Mammoth this past weekend, and I'm pleased to report that things went great! Much better than I had anticipated, actually! She slept the entire time we were in the car, she was a great sleeper at night, and really happy all weekend. Here are a few pictures...
