Maternity Photos

One things that Dan and I did not do when I was pregnant with Kendall was have maternity photos taken.  Seeing as how this is going to be my last pregnancy, I really wanted to have pictures taken this time around.  It has also been a while since we've had family photos taken, so the timing seemed to be great.

We decided to have pictures taken on the beach, right near the historic Hotel del Coronado.  Although the weather could have been a bit better the day we posed for our photos, the setting made for some great shots.  I love the pictures and am so glad that we had them done.  Here are a glimpse at some of my favorites:

First Day of School

Well, I'm about a month behind with this post, but I did want to make sure that I preserved the memory of Kendall's first day of school in 2012.  She's in a toddler room once again this year, after missing the cutoff for preschool by a month.

(Side note: I feel that her school should have given us the opportunity to choose if we wanted her to move up or not as she was the only one from last year's class that stayed behind, AND the cutoff does not coincide with elementary school cutoffs.  I'll leave it at that.)

Kendall has two new teachers this year, Miss Jessica and Miss Oly, and she loves them both.  She's one of the oldest in her class this year, but has met a number of new friends who are only a month or two younger than her.  It appears as if she's being a great helper in her class, helping the teachers and even playing with some of the younger kids.

Starting with a good breakfast!

And then she just wanted to take silly pictures:

I look at these pictures and it's amazing how much she's grown over the past year!!

A Different View

Kendall is still loving her camera that we bought her this summer, and takes any available opportunity to photograph the things that are important in her life.  She'll even set up photo sessions with her favorite toys every now and then.  I love looking at these pictures as it's given me a different perspective on how she sees the world, and what makes up her world at this point in her life.

Here are the best shots from the past six weeks or so:

Summertime trip to the mountains

A couple of weeks ago we took off for a long weekend and went to Mammoth with Gram and Dude.  Dan and Dude rode their bikes, we swam in the pool and enjoyed the Taste of Mammoth Festival that was taking place that weekend.  We even rode the gondola to the top of the mountain and had lunch.

Latest Baby Photos

We had our latest ultrasound on August 15th, and learned that we're about to have another big baby.  At that time I was only 28 weeks and 3 days, and the littlest Weatherby was already measuring about 2 weeks early, and was weighing in at 3 1/2 pounds.

I'm now scheduled for a C-Section on October 30th, at which point I'll be 39 weeks and 2 days.  I'm very doubtful that I'll make it that long, but we'll know more in the next few weeks.  Any guesses as to when this baby will be born?

Here are a couple of shots that we walked away with that day.  I really enjoyed seeing the 3D photo, even though she was feeling shy that day and you can only see a portion of her face.  I think that her nose and lips resemble Kendall's!  Can't wait to see what her whole face looks like!

A Floating House for 14

A couple of months ago we packed up and headed to MeMe and Pap Steve's house in Arkansas for a week of houseboating fun.  This was not only Kendall's first time to her grandparent's house, but it was also her first flight on an airplane, and her first time meeting her cousins from Missouri.  We managed to pile 14 of us onto a houseboat for three nights and headed out on Bull Shoals Lake.  We baked ourselves in the hot sun, and swam like fish all day long.

We also purchased a camera for Kendall before we left on our trip.  It's a kid's camera, so the quality isn't the best, but she absolutely loves the thing.  We mostly ended up with blurry shots and pictures of the ipad, there were some gems in the bunch.  Here is the trip according to Kendall:

So many more photos that I could share, but I won't go through them all.  We had a great trip!!

Baby to Big Girl

In preparation for our upcoming arrival, it was time to move Kendall to a big girl bed.  She was already sleeping in her crib with the toddler rail attached, but it was just a matter of going out and getting new furniture.  We went last weekend and she helped to pick out the largest bed that she could possibly get her hands on.

Last night in the baby bed:

First night in her big girl bed:

Yes, that's a full size captain's bed, and yes it appears to swallow her up.  But there is plenty of room for her babies and stuffed animals and she's as happy as could be.  Don't ask how she gets in and out - we've devised a system that I'm sure is not approved by any parenting organization on earth.  We're working on something better, I swear.

A Big Announcement!

I guess it's about time that we finally announce that baby #2 is on the way!  She (yes, we'll have a house full of girls) will be making her big arrival sometime in late October.  My official due date is November 3rd, but given that I'll be having another C-Section, the little girl will be making her arrival a week or so before then.
