The Little Mermaid

Kendall started swim lessons a couple of weeks ago at our local YMCA. We really wanted her to get some exposure to the water before the summer months when we're out at the pool, the beach and the river. We didn't expect her to be an olympic champion after the month of classes, but we figured that this would be a good way to start.

I have to say that Kendall's response to these classes has not been exactly what I thought it would be. As I had anticipated, she was a bit scared the first day, but warmed up as the class went along. By class #2, she was ready to hit the water as soon as we walked in the pool area. She was kicking when you told her to and enjoying the jumps into the water. Going underwater wasn't her favorite part of the class, but she took it all in stride.

Since then, things haven't been so fabulous. She doesn't seem as excited about the class, and just wants to float on her stomach when we get going. She doesn't seem scared of the water, but she doesn't seem thrilled about swimming. She gets cold before the class ends, and when I'm in the water with her, she wants to wave at dad for a good portion of the class.

One more week to go - let's hope we can finish strong!!

Happy Easter!

We celebrated Easter at our house this year. The Easter Bunny visited in the morning:

and then Gram, Dude, Uncle Sean and Aunt Jessica came over for bubbles, an egg hunt and dinner:

Kendall loved the egg hunt! She was so focused on finding the eggs and putting them in her basket. It was really neat to watch!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Happy Easter!

15 months

I'm pretty late on this post considering that Kendall turns 16 months old on Friday, but better late than never, right?!?!

Here were the little girl's stats at her 15 month appointment:

Weight = 25 pounds, 4 ounces (83rd percentile)
Height = 31.5 inches (82nd percentile)
Head Circ. = 18 inches (46th percentile)

Still a big girl! I know that she's taller than the measurements that they took at the doctor's office because she was laying with her head tilted a bit. We'll see where she's at again when we have our 18 month visit in a couple of months!
